Red face New CL style grille in silver... any photos?

Hi,
since the new CL style grille with the larger star is available in different color, I was just wondering if anybody has a picture (or two or three) of the grille in silver... maybe even on a brillant silver E-class?

I just called Jerry to see if the have pictures... but they don't.

So if you have any pics... please post them.

Michael

Jerry just informed me they should be in sometime next week. He's going to call me when they come in as he wants me to bring the S500 to test fit the CL Style Grill for the W220. I can take some pics of the silver ones once they come in if you would like.

Hi,
yes he also told me to get some next week. Well I actually know what the silver one looks like - I would rather get some pictures on a car! If you would send me some or post them here - that would be great! Jerry said the silver gives some more depth - whatever that looks like

Picture of silver from Jerry...you can probably do a Photoshop to a Silver W211. They are in if anyone is interested.

If anyone is interested in a CL grill for the W220....I will be bringing the S500 to Jerry for a test fit and photos in the next couple of days.

Hi bros

Howdy from Singapore! This is my first posting on this forum. Here is a picture of my newly modified W211 with AMG bodykit and CL-style grille.

Thanks for the nice picture... I tried to play with Photoshop... don't know if that would be the real look and if I matched the color tone to my picture, but that might be it:

And actually... I am not sure if I like that look at all. Maybe I should go with the standard black.

Hi Mortenstein...I tend to agree with you on the effect with the silver grille. Even being a PS image, to me the lack of contrast is evident. I was kicking around the silver but kind of glad I went with the black now. Will be interesting to see if LIONHEAD can post an image with the silver installed from his fitting test or some other car.

I'd remove the hood star, maybe try the PS on a less close-up shot of the front from a different angle to get a better idea

That was a shot from my car right after I got it! The hood star has already been removed.

Anyways... I think a bit more contrast might look better.

Great job on the Photoshop...the pic certainly confirms my choice of going with the black - I definitely think the contrast adds to the look...

In my opinion, if the silver on the CL grille is not a 100% match with the car's silver paint, then it doesn't look nice.

Even if the black on the CL grille is not a 100% match with a black car , it is more forgiving.

I agree. The silver might look pretty good on a non-silver car, especially with the darker colors. I think black would be best with my granite grey.

Just called Jerry again. He says that the silver on the grille is exactly the brillant silver from the E.

I think I can get the exact CL style grill for $200 shipped from a Friend of mine if it's a large order like 5 or more... I am just trying to help everyone save some $$. If anyone is interested, I can also find out his contact info so you can reach him directly. I think he is dealing directly w/ the manufacturer in Asia, that's why he can get the price a lot cheaper.

Well, $200 shipped sounds great BUT...

I want the grille economically priced, not cheap! $200 can be pretty expensive when buying from a "stranger". What about warranty? I bet (but don't know) when there is a problem 3 weeks after installing the grille the good friend suddenly disappears

Got photos? Please post them.

Just my 2 ct.

I'd be interested in getting the Black CL Grille for my Black E. I'd be ok with the $200 shipped - or did you mean that group buy is only for the Silver grille?

I am sure the products are all made from the same mold made in asia, Taiwan or singapore... I have done a little research. Believe it or not. $200 is not "cheap", it's a fair price. I am also looking for the CL grill myself at the moment. I believe in "fair price", not because some items are new, hot, then the seller jack the price up. The cost for those grills made and shipped to US is probably around $100. $200 I believe it is a fair price. The seller I know is in the process of getting those grills and posting pictures on the web. After "discussing" actually bargaining w him. He agreed that a fair, competitive price is about $200. I am not his business partner or anything. I have never even met the guy in person. He owns a shop that sell's MB car parts. I was looking and searching for a body kit for my car and I ran cross his website. we end up becoming "online" friends just by talking about cars. So, that's the story. I think he is a trust worthy guy. Of course I am getting my CL grill from him also, I can tell you how the quality is once I install it. You guys can reach him at ab2_js@hotmail.com you can ask him any question.
