W211 radio

Hi 2003 E500 , was taking the car through the car wash and my CD player started to make weird noises and the command screen was flickering then the radio turned off.I brought a fibre optic butterfly and test thing s.putting it on the Nav player it seemed to work. Stopped after a few hours and now just shows the Mercedes symbol and switches off, I would appreciate any insight

Try the solution noted on this site. My 2005 was stuck on the logo splash screen. Lots of content on this site.

Had the exact same problem. Turned out to be a fuse in the trunk. It was an orange 40A fuse for the AGW (Audio Gateway), it is Fuse #6 in the trunk. I replaced the fuse and the radio came back to life. Just needed a needle nose pliers to pull the fuse and a flashlight to see it. Trunk light isn't that bright. You can probably pull the fuse my hand. Here is a webpage with the location.

If you purchase a replacement fuse, buy more than 1. It is possible the fuse may blow again in the future. I have no idea why mine fuse blew. So I have a few extra fuses in the car.
