Trunk (boot) wont open - wiring ok?
Hey all,
Yes I know - boot wont open problem....... (eyeroll)
But I have done a forum search and it returned loads of posts - plus loads of YouTubing and Google.... and it seems that there are two fixes. Nearly all of which point to the wiring being split/snapped on left side boot arm or failing that, fuse 11 in the boot has blown.
So I took to resolving my issue with confidence.
Only of course to discover that my wiring appears fine..... I stripped it back at numerous places and tested with multimeter and I get a clear tone so I think I am right in saying that there is a circuit (?) on all three wires - guessing power +- and signal.
So tried testing all the fuses - remembering that its number 11 apparently.... but that tested fine as well.
So now I dont have a clue what to look at?
Anything else I should be testing?
I would say perhaps the catch itself but that looks like a replacement to me (as has writing on it from parts dealer) - mechanically its fine, is there a way to test that bit with the multimeter?
Pain in the wotsit having to use the 'emergency' key every time!
