Help needed for Airmatic Problem.. I am about to get crazy.
Hi everyone and warm greetings from Turkey.
I have an airmatic issue can not be solved here which makes me mad. I bought a 2002 model W211 E270 CDI with airmatic suspension system. (with ads function)
The suspensions were far away from comfort at first. I thought it's because that the car is old and I changed both front and rear suspensions with Bilstein brand new suspensions. The rear airbags seemed OK when I raise and lower the car. So I did not change them, only the suspensions. I was expecting a comfort ride but unfortunately nothing really changed except the front is a little bit more comfy than before. When I pass cross over bumps, a terrible oscillation happens. The car goes right and left just like a fishing boat. When I went to service today the tech said that rear left airbag tank is not giving the right pressure to the airbag so that the car has oscillation. Some other guy said it may be because of the Airmatic compressor. On the diagnosis every function seems OK. There are no Malfunction message as well.
Now I need to know ;
1- Does the rear airbags effect the stiffness of the suspensions during ride?
2- Or is my problem occurs because of the new suspensions' ads system? They feel like they are locked in sport mode. (airmatic ecu or whatever)
3- Which unit controls the ads module on the suspensions?
4- What may be the problem as general as the car has no mulfunctions on diagnosis? Can there be any mechanical problem which the computer does not show?
