Parents just ordered 05 E320.. wait for E350?

Parents just ordered a 05 E320 today. Expected delivery date mid-Sept. I'm pretty sure the E350 is just around the corner since the CLS already comes with the 3.5L and 7G.

Should i tell them to wait a few extra monthes for the E350? Is Mercedes planning to introduce the E350 as a early 06 model or a 2005.5 model? Anyone got any info on this? thanks.

probably not until 2006 for the E350.

I would wait for the 2006 if they can - you'll get the E350, and maybe this whole issue about decontenting of the car will be settled as part of the facelift. for a $50K car like the 320 to have an HVAC system that doesn't even measure up to an Accord is nonsense, and you apparently can't even pay and order the better system?

If you're in the US, the 350 is not until 2006 at earliest -- a year away, roughly. So you have to consider trading off having a car now (don't we all want instant gratification?) against waiting for a car with 30 larger engine. If performance is so important, of course, you could always be instantly gratified with an E500.

Try not to think of "decontenting" the car as "stripping" it. Think of it as removing all of the buggy, infrequently used, will not be missed after 1 model year, overtaxing the design/repair cababilities of the engineereing/repair staff, greatly annoying when they act erratically, hurting the reputation of the brand, items.

It is too long to wait. They are both amazing cars, although one is actually available now.. if you want extra power, go to E500..
