lowering the car(again)
I've posted this on the e55 site also. I'd like to hear from anyone other than Stephens, who has lowered the 211 and how they like it, and how difficult it was, or not.

what kind of suspension do you have? airmatic or regular?
I have the regular one. be careful what size of wheels you put on it..... sometimes it might cause some fender rubbing. AND I feel the ride is not as comfy....... now I feel every little bumps.... on the road.... a sacrafice need to make for looks.

lowering etc.
sorry, I should have specified air suspension. The ride, when I did it in the 210 e55, did get bumpier with the hr springs and bilstein sport shocks, but got rid of a floaty, loose feeling and was worthwhile for me. It is a compromise.

ok.. airmatic. from what I know. people dont replace the springs at all. they bought some kind of Brackets....... kit. There is a shop called RB tech. they have something for it. BUT!! I don't like their after service........... since he does a lot of High end cars.. like Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborgini, Bently... I think he is tooooooo busy and doesn't really care much about the small business like "lowering the car for a Benz"
he built a exhaust for my car. First he put on a different tips than what he promised me. Then later when I complain about it and wish to replace the tip.. he kept on telling that he is too busy to show me other tips. Finally, when I asked him to give me a schedule appointment, he told me that he will have to charge me $180 labor to just replace the tips!!!!!! he was the one that put on a diffrent tips and now he is asking extra $$ to fix it. shouldn't customer's satisfaction on the product, even after getting the service, the most important?? I dont' know... .... Anyways, you can look him up and ask about the lowering kit.

lowering
the lowering that i wondered about is done by a computer, adjusting the values in the air-springs.It seems to be simpler than kits. I don't think I'd ask your mechanic for anything; he sounds more like a ferrari or fiat guy.

huh.. didn't know that..... all I have heard so far is by put on a new bracket kit to adjust it... are you sure you want to mess w/ the airshock itself?? might void the warranty. I think w/ the lowering kit, if something goes wrong, you can always change it back.
