Impact of replacing stereo head unit

I have just about had it with the bluetooth issues I'm experiencing with my 2011 E350 and moving towards replacing the head unit.
Does anyone know the consequences of what I will lose? All mbrace features? Remote unlock, etc?
Anyone had any experience with this?
Given that I can't seem to get the hardwired connection to an iphone working and the bluetooth is now just barely usable (using iphone XS), I don't see a lot of other options.

Have you tried resetting the phone and updating the firmware.

I had bluetooth issues with my newly purchased Iphone XR and my 2008 E300. Albeit the COMAND units in my and you r vehicles are different, the bluetooth issues might not be related to the car. I had the Genius Bar hard reset the phone which forced a firmware upgrade of my device. This action eliminated my Apple/Mercedes bluetooth problems.

I replaced mine (Navigation) with a Dynavin N7 headunit. It has bluetooth built in, navigation, the ability to add XM. I lost the ability to read things on the speedo display (which I never used) but steering wheel controls and everything else works fine.

Well you're in the wrong forum for a 2011 which is a W212. But anyway, I also have the same one. There is a firmware update for the car. You have to bring it into the dealer and tell them you're have problems with bluetooth and to have them update Comand. Also try deleting the pairing on both the phone and the car and try it again. As others said, a firmware update on the phone may also help.
