Will E63 muffler on E550 increase power and sound?
Hi All,
I own a 2007 Mercedes E550 Base (RWD), and I have searched all over for muffler options. This weekend I had the resonator and second cat deleted, but I still want more sound. Exhausted from searching for overly prices aftermarket options, I see that some people put E63 mufflers on our cars. Will an E63 muffler improve the sound and/or power on my car? I'd appreciate any comments or suggestions, and thanks in advance. Here is one muffler set up that I am looking at on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/07-11-W211-...ry!22306!US!-1

why is everyone so interested making their Mercs louder? I suggest buying a mustang or challenger if you want loud musclecar sound. The only Mercedes intended to be louder are the SLS and SLR models, E550 with the M273 motor was designed for quietness.

I think the M156 in my E63 sounds pretty good with the resonators removed. It's just loud enough. Not obnoxious, but you can hear it.
