W211 daytime running lights programming

Hi there I have a Usa Noel Mercedes e350 and i never has the option of daytime running lights to come on on there own. It was either full lights all the time causing bulbs to burn out sooner or have the switch in Auto and no lights during the day until evening. Is there anyway I can program this

Would it be better to buy good quality drl and install at some place and hook it up directly with ignition key. So whenever you start the car it will turn on.

Yes that hack job could work, installing a separate DRL, however enabling DRL from the dash menu would also work, its in the owners manual.
