Jack point nonsense

Anyone figured out the best way to support the car on jack stand? This is what I am challenged with every time. The jack picture is not an exaggeration, it is how Craftsman jacks are. I have a older one that is somewhat flat but also kind of arc so I am not sure how to jack this darn thing properly. I always put the tires under the car for extra safety which makes it difficult to get in and get out from under the car.

Those jacks you have are designed to go under control arms and such.

Better to buy a proper jack stand if you need it.

Otherwise you could cut a small block out of a 2x4 to fit in the recessed square in the car's jack point to give the rounded jack stand to press against.

Jack stand pads

Try these: https://creative-steel.com/shop/mercedes-jack-pad/

I have a pair for my E55, so I don't mess up the goofy jacking point.

A round base still would not be suitable for most jacks, more dangerous IMO

A standard jack and jack stands work just fine.... Put the jacking point pad in the center of the jack pad and jack up the car (use the front center point) and then place your traditional jack stands under each side jacking point. Lower the vehicle. This really isnt rocket science people...

Maybe you are missing the body jack pads, they attach with only one center screw. Three were missing on my vehicle discovered after I started doing my own work. Both front sides and the front center ones. I didnt even know about the front center point until reading here just recently. Not sure if the side pads are the same as the center one.
