lease change in mileage
Just found out I am transferring jobs which would result in a great reduction in miles needed on my lease. Just got my car at the end of May - 15,000 mile lease allowance per year. Anyone here know if you can change your mileage after leasing a car? Want to change to a 10,000 mile allowance. I know that it changes the residual in the lease calculation resulting in a lower payment.
I've only made one lease payment since getting the car.
Will the dealer make me trade? Maybe it's not even worth the hassle...
Thanks!!

In the market
They will definitley adjust your mileage up with a little higher lease payment. They have made me that offer a few times. I seriusly doubt they will let you go in the other direction and reduce your payment though...

MBcredit will only adjust mileage up, not down.
oh well...
I did a calculation based on the different depreciation amounts (residuals), and I could have saved between $50 and $70 a month - guess I'll just be saving that in gas now.
Not sure if it is worth it to try and trade in - might have to pay out more $$.
Thanks everyone... this is a great forum!!
