W211 E200 Kompressor (2003) Rough idling
My 2003 E200 has had the check engine light on for the past 2 years but it comes and goes. I have terrible fuel economy and the car really struggles when the engine is cold giving off a terrible and choking engine sound. I have decided it's time to look into it and repair it. I first cleaned the throttle using some throttle valve and carbulator cleaner - this had some small improvement but the issue still persists. I believe that the problem lies in a hose leak somewhere transferring air into the engine. Is anybody aware of this issue? Is this something I could do myself with basic tools? If so, can somebody point me in the right direction so that I can replace/repair it myself and save some cash?
Thanks.
