Code 9200 Hall sensor of component M27m1 is faulty
While working on my sons 2003 E320 today I could not move the drivers side seat forward or backwards (new issue since it worked yesterday). I put the scan on it, and got a code 9200 Hall sensor of component M27m1 (Forward/back motor) is faulty.
Trying the component tests just gave similar errors since the seat could not move so the sensor value would not change.
I was completely out of time dealing with removing the rear seatbelts to address SRS errors that I have been putting off for some time and leaving on a trip but any advice would help, I'll be back in a week and do a bunch of searching/testing then.
Just realized I never posted the resolution of this - Saturday April 18,2020. I took the seat out, pulled it completely apart. Cleaned all the rails, new grease (not MB but just some lithium grease and some silicon spray), electronics cleaner on all connectors, put it all back together and the seat worked perfectly. Maybe it was jammed - maybe the electrical connect was slightly bad. The code cleared the moment the seat was able to move. This was the only photo I took of the seat when apart.
