After exchanging a couple of emails with Mark I decided to drive the two hours to Chicago to meet him in person, which my wife and I did on Monday, July 5th. Mark was friendly and knowledgeable and made me an offer I couldn’t refuse (maybe I should call him the Godfather) so I called him on Tuesday, July 6th to let him know which car in their inventory my wife and I had selected. Unfortunately, he had sold that car that afternoon. He arranged to get an identical car from another local dealership and on Saturday, July 10th we picked up the car.
I don’t often write testimonials, but felt compelled to do so since this was the best overall car buying experience I have had. Thanks Mark.
Although I already orderd my car from another dealership, and will be picking it up wed, he still went out of his way to help me. In fact I got more MB Service from Mark than from the dealership I bought my car from. He told me where my car's status and vin way before my dealer. Even spent time on the phone to help me make sure I was doing everything that I should be to get the best deal.
Although I'm getting the car here in NY, cause I'm already far into the process, next time round I would not hesitate to make the trip to Chicago and deal with him from the get go!
Without sounding overly cynical: It's very rare that you find salespeople, or anybody for that matter, who are willing to go out of their way to help someone else, for no othe reason then to help, or at best attain some goodwill.
Without any other way to show my appreciation:
THANKS!
P.S. I don't think you're violating any forum rules. Your actually saying something good about a forum that fosters an enviornment that makes it possible to find helpful people like Mark.
"remember a customer who has a bad expeirience tells everyone a customer who has a great expeirience tells 10 friends, and eventually 3-4 of those people will buy from you. i am living proof of that 200 plus sold in 2003, most by referral."
I think he realizes that if you treat people well, they will remember and spread the news. Not only will they become repeat customers, they will tell their friends. I wish everyone was the same way. Most are shortsighted and attempt to do whatever they can to make the most on a single sale. One of the reasons I wanted to post this message is because I think that type of behaviour should be rewarded.
