E320 04` Problem
Hey guys maybe you can help me out before I talk to my dealer. I have a problem with my 2004 e320. There is a low pitch humming sound I notice when traveling at slow speeds. It almost sounds like a heavily muffled jackhammer. I can't really describe it. I suspect it is the brakes since the problem occurs after braking. For example I will be driving in a parking lot, brake and the noise will occur after i release the brake pedal. It also seems that the brake pedal vibrates. In addition, I catch my brakes giving off a high pitch squeal why applying normal pressure during moderate speeds, but I don't know how frequently that happens since I like to listen to my music loud . The car is fairly new, it just passed to 4000 mile mark. I have heard something about a brake recall, but never received a letter. Anyone know what is up?

The dealer says its the SBC...supposedly normal and should occur less frequently as the computer "learns" how your driving/braking style.

This thread might be of interest, there is a retrofit to reduce vibration felt through the pedal: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w211/33310-buzzing-noise-sensotronic-brakes.html
