e320 cdi

i saw an e320 cdi on the road the other day, and i almost forgot that MB introduced this model of the e-class recently. has anyone driven one? how is the new diesel engine? it seems like a very complex engine that provides amazing gas mileage and performance....it produces a lot of torque, it's faster than the normal 320 with more weight, and costs about the same price... i'd be curious to hear how it sounds as well...

Do a search here, there are a lot of posts re: this model..

All are glowing reviews except for the fact that it doesn't include a couple of $30.00 extras available in the E500/E320..

Drive it and you'll buy it. It's that good. I have driven many cars in the past. None can compare to the torque (pulls like a freight train), engine refinement, and of course the mileage. I am averaging city 28 mpg and highway 35-37 mpg. Mixed 50/50 I roughly get 31mpg. I have driven approx 650 miles before having to fill up my tank.. Now that's amazing! The sound is pleasant. I personally love the growl of the engine. There is abrely any clatter and if anything, once the car gets going, it is almost inaudible.
Best Regards,
Jay

The performance is amazing but for me the real difference was noted this week when I was in the mountains of Northern Arizona. The turbo gave the car the same performance as at Phoenix, which I never had with the gas MB's. It is an amazing car.
