2004 E500 Mercedes
Transmission

When I come to a complete stop and then get ready to take off my car takes forever to pick up speed like it’s stuck in the last gear I have 2004 E500 7Speed with 124k but it don’t do it all the time but I’ll have to pull over and cut my car off and back on problem gone can anyone tell me wat can this be is it bad speed sensors or transmission going bad idk

Possibly a bad hall effect switch in the shifter assembly. Keep your interior lights on and see if the shifter highlights the selected range position when the transmission acts up. If it doesn't highlight the shifter position then it's the interior switch. Common to have the transmission stay in high gear after a stop when this part fails

Ok so when it had acted up and got stuck in last gear I Auto shift to see if the car wud change gears but it didn’t not do so but u can see the gear I selected from 1 to 6 to D but nothing had happen until I restart the car but since I did the transmission reset I haven’t been having any problems yet but I’m still taking my car to Mercedes to see if any codes are stored

Did you try scanning for codes?
that might help you a lot in troubleshooting.
Takes MB-oriented scanner to read advanced codes.

I’m got a appointment tomorrow morning hopefully they can pull the codes and tell me wats going on but the car hasn’t been doing that since I reset the transmission but I still want to see if any codes came up
