Radiator not working properly

Hey everyone, I recently picked up a clean 2003 E55 AMG with low miles. However, I haven’t really been able to fully enjoy it yet because I noticed it runs a bit hot. On an average day, under normal driving conditions, the engine temp with stay around 96C and the radiator fan will not turn on unless I turn the AC on or force it on with HVAC Auto controls. I’ve tried starting it from cold a couple times and had the engine warm up to 95c and the fan will not kick in on its own. Do any of you know what could be faulty? Would it be a faulty coolant temp sensor or radiator fan switch? What temp should the fan be turning on? I’ve tried searching but couldn’t find any straight answers. Thanks!

Take the radiator's temperature (top hose) and compare it to what the instrument cluster says.

The temperature is the same once the thermostat opens around 87c
