North American→European-spec conversion (with part numbers!)

Hi all,
I've tossed around the idea of a whole AMG conversion, but later decided against it as it would put me down a rabbit hole of mods with money I don't have. I have decided instead to rather add some subtle, unique (for the NA market at least) touches to my car (E500 Elegance package) many of which are found on the European models, and am trying to compile a list of the differences for anyone looking into something similar. I am not doing all of these mods, but will do a few of them. Just want to get all of the parts in one spot for anyone looking to do one or all of these changes.

Here's a list of the parts I could come up with--feel free to add on or correct anything.

Euro trunk insert--P/N 2117500237--the trunk lid on our cars has two parts--the lid itself and the insert for the plate with the chrome strip. For pre-Facelift cars, the indentation for the licence plate is narrow, and cannot fit a Euro plate should one want to install one. The European pre-facelift option, on the other hand, is very nice looking and makes the car look a little wider and just flows better in general. Plus it can fit a Euro plate (Option does not apply to post-facelift as the parts are identical). You may need to do some tinkering if you do not want to install a Euro plate.

Impact strips--P/N 2118800512 (driver), 2118800512 (passenger). Parktronic D: 2118800912, Parktronic P: 2118801012--Impact strips in North America feature those amber reflectors. Some like them, some loathe them. While there are people who sell clear versions of the reflectors, some still may prefer the actual Euro parts. Note you will have to code the sidelight out through STAR, or you can wrap the bulb in electrical tape and hide it in the bumper, so as not to trigger any fault codes. Some North American stealerships have these parts in stock due to various reasons--give your local dealer a call. Carid, Amazon and Ebay also have the parts. Note for facelift owners--to do this you would be required to replace the whole bumper, as it is all one piece. Gary@Suvneer's kit is built to European specification.

Fender badges--P/N classic: A2038170920 elegance: A2038171020 avantgarde: A2118174820--They are the same part for W203 and W211--identical badges were used on both cars. These are badges found on that little edge of the door trim that extends over the fender. European non-AMG models feature the trim in a black badge on this piece. Please don't be that person that badges your classic as an avantgarde. You aren't fooling anyone but yourself.

Door lock pins--P/N 12376600229051--not specifically W211, but work still. I've seen many complaints around here about the stock non-AMG door pins, likening them to things like mushrooms and golf tees (the latter makes me want to test it out next time I golf). These have been used for years by MB, and I believe the part no. may have been discontinued... maybe someone with more knowledge than myself would be able to confirm this... but it is still readily available on ebay and carid.

Transmission mode button W/S--P/N 2115420026--I believe this part only comes in W/S without a M/W/S option for the AMG models, but maybe someone could chime in on that. Nothing to this other than changing out the gear indicator on your shift bezel. Unfortunately, the entire indicator must be replaced to have the button read W/S instead of C/S, but for those who want it, the part is there.

Euro Comand--P/N A2118202197--There have been countless threads on this topic already, so I will not go into detail for this.

Headlights... no official part number here, but if you do want a European beam pattern, search for a projector built to ECE standards as opposed to the American DOT standards. Mark Cummins has vouched for the ECE beam on the forums here. Make sure you get them for the EU RHD (right side of the road) spec as opposed to the EU LHD (left side of the road) spec as doing otherwise would blind oncoming traffic, not to mention it wouldn't do well illuminating the road on the side you need to see!

Honourable mention: debadging. Something that is far more common in Europe than in North America is the trend of debadging, ie: leaving just the MB badge on the boot lid. It exists both as a styling thing as well as to have a sleeper feel--the Swiss especially are notorious for this and will go as far as removing the V8 Kompressor and 6.3 AMG badges on their E55s and E63s. Use a hair dryer/heat gun and dental floss to get the badges off, and have some goof off handy for any residue left on the paint.

Please respond if you can come up with any more ideas or any corrections you may have to this list.

Rear taillight assemblies- European models have Amber turn and Hazard lights, US do not have the bulb in the assembly but use blinking brake light for the turn.

Also EU tail light connectors have an additional wire/pin to trigger the tail lights, so need additional wire from rear Sam. And Reprogram
