Greetings all, I have been searching for a replacement OEM steering wheel for the '04 E320 4matic (744-Brilliant Silver Met / 038 Ash Grey). I've searched several forums and used my Googlefu to try and find the answer which I have come to witts end and decided to ask.
Dealers brochure that came with the car shows the interior is Ash Grey, Code 038. When I use the online VIN decoders it returns the interior is "MB TEX-LEATHER, TWIN/ARTICO-GREY" (Code 138A). Another place I found with the VIN says "Twin/Leather, Sierra Gray 138". A place I'd like to purchase a wheel from (AGE Styling) lists the color for MY04 as "Palm Grey".
What on earth is going on with this grey color? i've seen older posts going around about the two-tone grey and I get the 'package' is called Ash Grey, both the light and dark. But when it comes to ordering a wheel no Ash Grey exists.
Anyone who figured this out please clue me in...not wanting to drop $400 on a new wheel and it be the wrong color.
(this is the all leather, non heated base wheel). Also the VIN if it matters is: WDBUF82J54X165428

My 2003 E320 has the same exterior/interior colors as yours (Brilliant Silver/Ash Grey). The seats and lower half trim is a lighter grey, while the steering wheel and dash is a darker grey. I’m looking to recover my wheel myself, but can’t find the dark grey’s name and/or code to order the proper leather color.
