Upgrading to Command
Hi guys, I tried replacing my APS50 radio (bad screen) with the Command radio (with the aux cord bigger screen dvd etc). I have 04 w211 220 cdi. The Command was 1.0 from a same model year.
I heard this was plug and play. That was not the case. Went to a workshop and got this message back:
Hello. the radio head unit is faulty:
we coded the radio to the car. always after some time the car stands radio and does not wake up from standby mode. you need to disconnect positive 30 power from it and reconnect. then it works for 1 time until it goes again to sleep / standby mode (car is shut off ,no ignition, locked). we replaced your old unit - everything works fine, but not with this new.
I was wondering if anyone had ideas?
one thought was that my car does not have the cd-magasin (as the car the new radio came from). I am kind of stranded contemplating the 300USD Android replacement radios.
