Hard to tell in the picture, but looks like part of your undercarriage plastic pan may have gotten hit by something and therefore a piece came loose.

Like I said.
I think it will be fine. However, I always try to keep the underneath in good shape as well, as it protects the engine bay.

You could just pick up a new plastic cover.

Those covers are all just held on by some 8mm hex head screws. Get a 1/4" wrench and a 8mm socket, jack it up and remove the covers - there are three total with a total of 12 screws. Really its a super easy job. The ones that are not damaged just clean them up. The damaged one either replace or repair it yourself for almost nothing. Fiberglass repair kit will do the trick as will some JBWeld or anything you can find. The covers are just to protect things from normal road crud like dirt, gravel, twigs, etc, and keep stuff it a bit cleaner. When you are doing this - its a good time to replace any of those screws that are missing - part number 0019906036. You can find them on ebay for super low cost or at any MB dealer. Where they go is self evident. The screws go into clips and they are pushed into the body frame or in the front wrapped around the plastic molding of the bumper. Those clips are part number: 0049943145
