HELP Airmatic problem E-550
2007 E 550 been having the malfunction light show up every now and then,started to notice the front sitting low parked the car and let it sit till I had time to look at it,got around to it today found the ground wire (brown)loose coming apart in the butt connector,reason for butt connector had to hard wire pump after oem pump burnt up because of relay sticking and it melted the factory power feed connector into a glob had to cut them off no way to get it apart,so fixed the connection and the pump is now working,also found the air supply asy the asy with the filter in it laying in the splash shield when I took it off I though at the time no big deal i'll fix that later today,but when doing a search saw a post that claimed the system won't pump air without that installed,so the pump works now after fixing the ground,sounds normal,but not bringing the struts up,so do I need that hose/filter asy hooked for the pump to supply air,also saw post about the wiring rubbing on the wheel well cover looked at that,they look ok but the wires coming out of the connector are bend at a sharp 90 degree's straight up like maybe they are hitting the wheel well cover at times,so I guess my real question is does the hose/filter asy need to be hooked up for the pump to function?
