Hey everybody,
No time to search need answers...
2006 e500 does anybody know what series of engine this is? Does it have the same problems with balance shaft and soft gears like the 2007 ish m273 and m272 engines?

I tried looking it up on wiki, but it was only for 2005 and prior cars.

It’s the M113 and considered to be bulletproof. Only things to really watch for are leaking rear main seals and valve cover/breather leaks as these engines now have some age on them. They are extremely reliable and easy to maintain.

I'm not going to buy the car because it smelled like dead bodies, no matter how good the engine is.
This dealership is in Edmonton, and it looked like something straight out of India or some other third world country. The cars were thrown all over the place and I've seen better looking junk yards.
You couldn't open any doors more than 3 inches because they would hit the car next to it. The weeds were as tall as me . The area around it, Calgary trail area, looked like a scene from the Gaza strip. The roads were so crappy it looked like they were bombed out. I can't believe the downfall of a once nice city.
