E-class experience (bad one)
just wanted to let people know my story of owning new E-classes (had VW before for 3 years without any break)

I bought first W211 in 2002, it was E270 CDI Avantgarde. Hmm.. diesel was ok but a bit noisy to my mind. Anyway, after a month I had an SRS failure. Then gearbox broke (pushing a pedal didn't give any results - 5 km/h was the max speed). After it was fixed I felt some sort of vibration at 1000rpm. That was fixed too. Then gear box broke down again and I gave this car back to the dealer.
Resume: from 5 months of owning 2 months spent in service. Argh!!
Well, I decided that was unlucky car and bought myself E320 '03 (it was 2003). Hmm.. 3 months no problems, then some unexplainable electrical problems began. First of all APS50 just turned off - shown MB logo for 3 seconds and switched off. Then windows just didn't open. I was told MB is "smart" in managing electricity when the power is low it starts to turn off different devices. Hm, it could warn about it at least???
And would you beleive that after a week it was fixed rear axle broke down??? Without any reason, just bad quality.
I still drive this MB and I must say I do enjoy this car but only when it works as it should.
What happened to Mercedes quality??
Angry owner.
PS. The clock on the dashboard is late (even if synced via GPS), late is about 10 minutes per hour. I don't wanna touch it since all the rest works.

As far as the windows and rear axle - well, sorry to hear it, but I can't recall other posts here concerning problems in those areas. Can you provide more details about the resolution of the window problem, and exactly how the rear axle "broke down"?
