2004 Mercedes e500 problems

I have a 2004 Mercedes Benz e500 and I was wondering how to test and see if the auxilary battery relay is bad. Also how to test the battery control module and see if that's bad

How could I test it other wise because I'm trying to avoid going to mercedes and spending tons of money just for them to see what's the problem.

Save yourself significant time, money, and angst by purchasing a good scanner to diagnose yourself (the car). I use dedicated Merc iCarsoft. @ $150.

I don't think that type of scanner would be able to tell me whether my auxiliary battery relay or the battery control module is bad.

A good scanner will give you codes, voltage, and point to your problem. But if you have deep pockets, the dealer will be happy.
