Is it possible to get a copy of the service software that the technitions use?

A frend of mine purchased software for his audi and loaded it on his laptop. Now he can do all sorts of things with it.


Am I correct to assume the one for W211 is StarDiagnose?

Does anyone have more info about this? Even some background info on how it works?

The software is easy to get. It's the MUX (Multiplexer) that the cables need to run through that is expensive to buy (~$4000.00). Without the MUX, the software won't even install or do much good.

I think you can get the software to install by bypassing the Autoplay feature, or replacing the separate program that determines if the machine is an "official" DAS machine.

I guess since this is technically a hack, you're still correct.

You might be able to order it from the dealership. It's just a media charge because I think it doesn't work if there's no license key, and if the hardware for the Star Diagnosis isn't there, it doesn't do much anyhow. I just said you could install it. Adam said that it would be useless, and he was pretty much spot on.

p.s. I am pretty sure the hardware is "Star Diagnosis" and the software is "DAS".
