E63 Bi-Xenon High Beam Bulb replacement
Here is my pickle..
I have an 07 E63 Wagon with Bi-Xenon headlamps..
I was able to swap out my low beams with some new philips (D1s? I believe), and those work great.. so now I am working on swapping out the High Beams..
And that is where I am starting to have an issue. I am 99.8% sure that the High Beam bulbs are H7, but I cannot figure out how to get the bulb from the connector.
I can twist the bulb, and get the bulb and connector out, but the connector's cable is only like 4 inches at most.. and I cannot move it out to get to it easily..
Please tell me what I am doing wrong, as I have tried almost everything I can think of.
HELP!

HELP!
I just did this to a parking light on my E55 Sunday. I had to squeeze the tab really hard and it was slightly painful, but the connector pulled off with effort.
FWIW, I just went out and took a look at the high-beam bulb. Same type of connector release but the connector on my car is stuck pretty darn tight on the socket. I didn't put much time into trying to remove it; just wanted to confirm the release mechanism.

You are saying that I need to squeeze and pull to get it off of the bulb.. then replace the bulb, and resqueeze to put the connector back on?
Thanks!,
Joe

To remove the harness connector from the socket, squeeze the plastic tab on the end of the harness connector and pull the connector to remove from the socket. Push it out of the way. Then twist and remove the socket out of the headlamp assembly. Then remove the bulb from the socket. I do not remember if that is a press fit or if it has a release tab without digging into my parts bin in the garage. Once the new bulb is in the socket, reinsert the socket into the headlamp assembly, then slide connector onto the socket. It will slip right on and lock in place.
There are two varieties of Xenon bulb available; the correct one depends on the code for your car. See here for the differences:

Looks like one will pull out of the socket and you insert the new bulb into the socket. The other I have no idea how the heck it mounts from the picture.
