Low Engine Temp in 2008 E320

I have a 2008 E320 W211 Bluetec that I purchased used a few months back with 112,000 miles on the odometer. I absolutely love the car and have already put over 6,000 miles on it in a few months. However, I'm concerned that the engine may not be warming up to a correct running temperature. Currently, the outside ambient temperature is approximately 70 - 75 deg. F. When I start the car and drive, it takes almost 10 miles of driving for the engine temperature to reach approximately 58 deg. C. The highest I've ever seen the temp gauge read is 60 deg. C. when the ambient temperature was ~92 deg. F. I'm wondering if I have a thermostat that is stuck open, at least partially. What is the normal engine operating temperature for a 2008 E320 Bluetec?

Had the same issue on a w211 I had. Replaced the thermostat for a Behr one and everything was good. The operating temo should be 92°C at least my w164 with om642 engine in this temp operates all the time. Warm up to op temp takes about 5-10 min depending on outside temp.

I'm going to go ahead and replace the thermostat. I drove the car 55 miles in the mountains today and the temp never exceeded ~55 deg C. according to the instrument panel gauge, and it took about 20 minutes to reach that temperature.

Atlanta Classic Cars looked at my car and said there was nothing wrong with my thermostat, although the gauge barely moved off the bottom of the scale and the heater put out almost no heat. I finally purchased a new Wahler thermostat on Ebay for $133.95 and installed it. Success! The temp gauge now reads correctly and the heater puts out nice heat.
