Winter tires W211

I have a set of winter tires and wheels with about 3500 miles on them. I want to run them on my 06 w211, but they are narrow by two sizes (205\55\16) The wheels were for a VW Jetta, but I have the proper hub ring for Mercedes as well. Other than speedo inaccuracies, will this cause issues? I understand that these will offer less handling performance.

How do you use a hub ring to fit a 66.6mm hub in a 57.1mm hole?

The hole is not 57.1 They are aftermarket wheels. The post is asking about tire size. Have you ever run 205's on a W211?

Also how are you going to fit M14 wheel bolts through M12 wheel bolt holes?

These wheels are aftermarket, came off of a 320. I bought them for my jetta and had to install centering rings for the VW. They worked well on the Jetta. I still have the 66.6 mm rings that were on them originally, so I assume they will work on the 350.

Here's your answer. The Jetta has 14MM wheel bolts. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-part...SABEgJezPD_BwE

Can we please get back to the question about tire size, or do I need to measure my steering wheel next

are they W211 E320 wheels or W210 E320? W211 used M14 wheel bolts, W210 had M12 bolts so those wouldn't work. That's the main difference. Tire size isn't all that important. Yes your speedo will be slightly off, no big deal. Narrower tires are better for digging into the snow.

Good luck

Tire width doesn't affect the speedometer or any of the other systems in the car, the only thing that matters is the circumference. The car won't know the difference between a 205 and a 295.

A 205/55/16 is about an inch smaller in diameter than the stock tire (Either a 225/45/17 or 245/40/18) so your speedometer will be off a little bit but other than that, the narrower tire will offer a bit more traction in the snow due to the smaller contact patch. There was a 16" wheel and tire combination offered on the W211, I believe it was a 225/55/16, which is slightly taller than the 205 and won't throw off the speedo.

Do you have the sport package with the larger front brakes? 16" wheels will not fit over the larger brake discs and calipers on sport package cars.

Although the brakes appear meaty, it did in fact come with the 225 55 16 as well as conventional coil over struts.
