Who can educate me on the SBC and especially the warranty. Im new to MB, with a 2005 e500. I have NO codes or issues with my system, I am just trying to learn about it, what to look for, failures anf what the warranty covers.
Does MB replace the SBC before any problems arise or only after??

 

MBUSA extended SBC warranty to 25 years/unlimited mileage from vehicle in service date (dealership delivery to first owner), fault codes must be stored.

Proactively, service life checks are performed (normally coinciding with every other oil change 13 & 14 included in A & B service) if by chance maintenance is performed by MB dealer. I should note MB initially required ATF/filter change once @ 39,000 miles this has been changed to every 39,000.

Call local dealer to check Vehicle Master Inquiry (VMI) confirming there are no outstanding Recalls and Service Campaigns for your VIN.
