Sudden multi issues 03'e320 (stop brake malfunction- esp- hazard panel lights off/on)
Hi, Please help! I drive an 03 e320 its been a great car. All of a sudden all these what seemed to be electrical issues started to occur. Brake workshop reduce braking, the battery was going dead everynight, my hazards basically stopped working the panel where hazard button is located the light come on and off while driving and when turning car off I can hear like a buzzing sound back behind panel, cant open secret compartment, then the scary one of the stop brake malfunction my brakes would freeze I would have to creep to a stop put in park turn key off open my door then close and start the car again along with the esp warning lastly everytime I turn the car on & off theres a different # of malfunctions everytime, from 6 to 2 to 1 back up to 4 etc..Ive bought a new battery, bought new auxiliary battery, replaced the 3rd brake light, replaced the stop light switch after all that it runs a little better & the stop malfunction still is happening just not as often. I've been troubleshooting and going thru one by one, but Im at a lost. I would greatly appreciate any knowledge or tips anyone has for me, thank you. P.s I have checked my brake pads & they are good as well as all the fuses. I dont know if the 2 brake pad sensors are bad, but ill check those next.

Check the codes with something better than a basic OBDii reader. Your car is trying to tell you something.

With so many malfunctions, there is likely one common denominator that resulted in everything you are experiencing. Assuming you don't have access to an OBDII reader specific to Mercedes (if you are in Los Angeles send me a message), go to your nearest Autozone and they will scan your car for free and give you a print out of all the codes present (this is better than having nothing concrete to help us identify the problem).
-------> Everything you describe is electrical so its possible that something like the idler pulley failed/ is failing and disturbed the serpentine belt which would explain your battery dying overnight (alternator), reduced braking power, power steering, AC climate control, basically everything you mentioned has a corresponding pulley that the serpentine belt travels (in a system) allowing for all of those functions to work. I would check for a loose or damaged belt or a broken or unstable pulley (pulley system front center in front of engine).
Let us know what Autozone print out says.

There's really no reason not to get a code reader that can read Mercedes specific error codes. You can get the Autel AP200 for about $63 on Amazon. But it could be a weak alternator or bad battery control module. Brake pad sensors would have nothing to do with it. Weak batteries as mentioned earlier can cause all those problems. What's the voltage of the batteries?
