08 E320 PRE-SAFE with Remote Start
Hey all, I have lurked for quite some time and found lots of fixes for common issues but I seem to have a much more specific issue now.
I recently installed a remote starter (idatastart CMBMXA0) into my 08 E320 and for the summer worked fantastic. Now that it's colder, I get a PRE-SAFE Inoperative message.
When I use push or tip start, the car does not present any lights, messages or codes. However, when I remote start the vehicle (when the temperature is below freezing) this message pops up and all sorts of CAN related codes appear on my Autel.
The remote starter is designed to turn on the heated seats in the car if it is cold enough. My theory is that it is adding some form of CAN message that the car cannot read, since this PRE-SAFE message only appears on remote starts where it is cold enough to turn on my heated seats.
Since I am not the most mechanically inclined individual I thought that I would try to seek more sound advise from others.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advanced!
