Lightbulb 2003 E320 CDI Auxillary Diesel Heater RetroFit!

Hello All,

After doing much research ive found out they did a optional extra (Code 228) for a Webasto Diesel Coolant heater for my W211 2003 E320 CDi

i need to obtain the retrofit manual or any advice about this, as dont fancy spending the £3k quoted for fitting. i know it belongs under the front wing, but as to how to fit and then input into the CAN-BUS to configure correctly remains a mystery!

i have the full Star Diag, No SCN

anyone got any ideas on the possibility on how this can be achieved/ worked out. as it would be a real benefit!!!

Thanks for your help in advance

Harrison

Update,

Found the WIS files for the retrofit. its a big task, and one you require many many original parts to achieve.

does anyone know if its possible to just get the CAN bus Decoder to communicate the pump activation/heater blower to trigger at set points???

or should i give up and buy a different car

Cheers

are you referring to the preheater? the one that plugs into your home electricity? For extremely cold climates.
Part # A6062000096?
I see there is also one that hooks up to the fuel tank.

i have attached the WIS overview for retrofitment. the main issue is getting the parts code for the retrofit. No one ( even mercedes dealer) can seem to source the KG99 Part Number which is the parts kit for the heater... anyone know how to successfuly find that on EPC id be interested...

i think its a bit of a no-go without that part kit. which includes the all important CAN module for communication and turning on the circulation pump etc etc....

its the one which uses diesel, and is made by webasto (thermo top C) easy to source, its just getting all the commincations modules to communicate with the front SAM and IC.....
