Hardwired my new Passport 8500 x50

this had to be the easiest thing ever. I used one of those littlefuse "add a fuse devices" pluged it into the CD changer fuse, (got it at autozone 10.00)there are no switched fuses up front and i didnt want to go through the trunk..

removed the trim piece on the windshield pillar and tucked the wire between the dash and the windshield with a credit card...

removed the bottom of the dash and grounded it to a piece of metal

whole thing took about 20 minutes...looks fantastic..

if anyone knows of a fuse that doesnt have power when the ignition is off (the lighter fuse is in the trunk) that is upfront, let me know..

Pics on the way but you dont need them its this simple

1. You need to purchase this part -Go to any major auto parts store - Its a Littlefuse add a circuit adapter.

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=071-580

All you do is insert the part into any fuse you like (must be less than 10amps)
I used the CD changer, you can pick the fuse you want from the fuse map that is inside the fusebox in the dashboard

1 .Open the drivers side door and with a screwdriver pop open the fuse panel on the side of the dash, (be carefull its a bit hard but it does pop off.)

2. Remove the fuse for the CD changer (use the fuse map list that is actuall tucked inside the fuse holder)

3. Insert the fuseholder device into the CD changer Fuse slot with the CD Changer Fuse inside the far slot of the device (read the insturctions that come with it as well)

4. Then insert the appropriate fuse into the second slot of the fuseholder device ( i used a 5amp to be safe) they supply you with extra fuses.)

Tap your device (radar or xm etc) into the fuseholsder wire extension (There is a red wire coming from the fuseholder device and that is the wire you tap into..)

If you need a ground for it, I used a metal bolt under the dash by the emergency brake release to ground it my radar detector hardwire cord. just unscrew the first two dash screws underneath and you will see it..on the left..Tuck it all away neatly, use a bag tie or electrical tape if you like and pop the fuse cover panel back on.
