Help removing a set without power
Hi Everyone,
I reed to remove the passenger seat on my 2003 W211 to replace the seat control module. The seat has no power, so is there a way to move the seat without power?
For more context, the module is shorted, so I am afraid that if I plug it back, it might damage other electronic components. I'm not sure if I'm being overly cautions.
I've seen some videos on jumping the connection with a 12v power source on other vehicles, but I'm not sure if that works for the w211 where the buttons are on the door.
Any help is appreciated!

I think you're being overly cautious. The power seat modules have fuses if there's a short circuit. I have moved power seats in a W203 that didn't have a battery by hot wiring the seat motors directly to my milwaukee impact gun battery.

Thanks for the reply. Since this is my first mercedes, I just wanted to make sure. I'll reconnect the seat and see if I can move it
