Bizarre Window Issue
The car needed a new battery in the trunk/boot, after changing the windows have some bizarre behaviour.
Nearside front (passenger) window works fine with the switch on its own door. Nearside rear doesnt work at all using switch on the door or the master switch next to driver. Rear offside, drivers side, doesnt work either with any switch too. The switches on passenger, and both rear doors you can see the orange LED illumination on the switch. On the driver door the illumination on the switches are not present, none of the switches work even on the passenger door which is the only window that works using its own switch.
Fuses are fine, electric mirrors, electric seats and all other electrics are fine. OBD scan showing no faults.
Im wondering if the drivers side switch is faulty, and if it was would this cause this behaviour? Can anyone help me...or give opinions of what i should check next thank you.
HELP!! x
Personally, if I didn't have one of those, I'd disconnect the battery for 10 minutes then reconnect (+) first, (-) second. Go from there.
BUT: a good scan tool will allow you to view the actual states of the switches in question, as well as engage the window regulators without using the switches at all. Sure makes troubleshooting easier.
Thanks for your reply, I did disconnect the battery for around 5 mins and reconnected and it was the same. Shall i retry for 10 mins?
Sorry i should have said, I actually have the icarsoft scanner is what i used, i couldnt see any faults on there at all. i wasnt aware this tool could do more than just scan?
Can you recommend next steps with the icarsoft? or other things to try?
