Instrument cluster issue
Hey guys,
First time mercedes owner and new to the forum.
I have an issue with my instrument cluster and was wondering if anyone has any ideas. I had a look around and couldn't find any related threads that match my exact problem.
Basically when I start to drive the whole instrument cluster keeps resetting itself. Like it powers down and then boots straight back up and the clock spins around. This doesn't happen when you first start the car and let it idle. Just when you pull away.
Just replaced the auxillary battery with the correct spec. Both batteries appear to be charging up ok.
Any ideas? Is this an instrument cluster issue or does something else cause it to do this?
Thanks

Had the cluster out, is it the connector in the back I'm looking at?
Everything seemed connected up ok, do need to test the harness for continuity?
Thanks

Just had a similar issue while taking a long drive yesterday. It happened twice but only once per power cycle. The clock didn't spin but all the lights came on and the speedo and tach went to zero and back up and all my messages came back like when you first start the car.
I recently did a top end rebuild on the engine but I am pretty sure I reconnected every single wire under the hood. Where should I look for this bad ground?
Thanks!
