Damaged steering column shaft
Have been working on restoring 2003 e500 interior back to original color.
steering wheel has not been right since I purchased it. So left it till last ...
issues
- indicator cancelling switch broken
- srs code on (clock spring)
- motorised adjustment not working (fuses etc checked)
so decided to investigate and pulled the steering wheel off and WOW ... found the steering wheel shaft damaged ??? I am trying to understand what has happened here???
can anyone tell me if the damaged piece can be replaced only or do I need to replace the whole column ?
thanks in advance
