w211 e350 wont start
My 2007 E350 had malfunctioning left tail light. I learnt that the bulb is not easily replaceable and chose to buy the tail lamp bulb assembly (2118201577). After replacing the part, the pblm still existed. Thats when I realized that there may be a blown fuse. (I should hv checked that first before ordering the assembly). So I opened the fuse panel next the steering, pulled out a few fuses to check and put them back. Then a google search later I learnt that there is another fuse panel in the trunk. It was dark on that side of the trunk, so I turned the car to back into the drive way to get some sunlight on the panel. As I was reversing the car stopped. Now the car wont start. The starter keeps cranking for 4-5 secs and stops. (There is enough fuel and battery). Did I mess up the fuses? Pls help.

Your main problem is the crankshaft position sensors. FCPeuro sells them, they say that VME was OE on that car and they're cheaper than the Mercedes ones. You can get the VME ones on rockauto for less, but they don't have a lifetime warranty like FCPEuro. You other problem is the air temperature sensor circuit but maybe that's a fuse. Try reseating your fuses.
Your intake manifold problem wouldn't account for it not starting, usually that just makes the car run rough. You should replace the oil separator and the oil breather cover, that caused the intake manifold runners to get gummed up with oil and now the flaps don't move that easily. You would normally replace the intake manifold to really clear the code but that's a project, It's about $650 on FCPeuro but they do 5% off once in a while if you leave it in your cart and don't check out.

I was wrong about the battery earlier...noticed that battery was only 11.8 volts. So connected a jump starter battery pack (at 13+ volts) and tried starting.. still wouldn't start.
Any ideas..anyone ?
