I have a 2007 E550 with 148k miles on it that I daily drive 20 miles a day to and from work. I drive it a hard a lot, but have been on top of maintenance. Car runs as it should. Just had transmission serviced 5000 miles ago and conductor plate replaced a month ago, and oil changed was just changed about 2000 miles back. Brakes are good. I plan on driving from North Seattle, to Mt. Rainier which is about a 2 hour drive, assuming there’s no traffic. Will be going on a meet and rally of sorts with about 10 other friends, so We will definitely be doing some spirited driving on the trip. Should I be worried about taking a high mileage German car on this trip? I’ve driven my Volvo 850 Turbo and my Acura TL down to Oregon many times without any worries and they both have over 200k miles on them, but I have this weird feeling about taking my E550 because I know that something can go wrong at any moment on these complicated cars...

A meteor could fall down and hit you right now. Just drive it.
If you're truly concerned, get a AAA Premier membership and you'll have 200 miles of towing at your beck and call.
My '05 has 171K+ on it. I'd not hesitate to jump in and drive it coast to coast.

I have more than double the miles on my 2007 E550 so your trailer queen should be fine.

If it makes you feel any better.....I drove both my 2000 CLK430 and my wife's 1999 C280 from Federal Way, WA. to Huntsville AL. Both had close to 200 K miles. If you do drive it hard/spirited up to Rainer.....you'll be a lil light in the wallet after.......They generate a LOT of revenue from speeders going up and down!

Yup. Just drove from Shoreline all the way to Leavenworth with 5 other friends today. We originally were gonna drive to Mt. Rainier but decided on a different location at the last minute. I hit the cars top speed several times. Sucks that it’s limited to 130 mph, if felt like it had way more in it. Was racing with friends who were driving a 2007ish 350z, a 2020 370Z nismo, a 2012 BMW X5M tuned to 640hp and a genesis coupe V6 and an E46 M3. Even an older Porsche decided to jump in on the race after we passed eagle falls. We almost got nailed by 5 oh several times. Thankfully I made it with no issues at all with my car, aside from needing to refill about 3 times LOL.
