Picking new tires

Hello all,

Soon after I bought my 08 E350 it needed tires. The new Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 were coming out so I decided to get some for my car. I got it aligned the day before and off I went to the tire shop. I was told the car does not need any suspension work at the time and previous owner had replaced all shocks not too long before I bought the car. One rotation later, almost time for the second (so 10k miles total) and my rear tires are gone. These Michelins have a 45k mile warranty but since it's a staggered setup the warranty on the rear ones falls to 22.5k. Not an issue if they lasted that long but 10k for a 500 tread rated tire seems excessively short. Both tires are uniformly and evenly worn. The car is never driven hard, tire pressures adjusted as needed, mostly freeway driving - about 90%. Front ones still have plenty of tread left. Any suggestions on what to look at suspension wise? Or am I just new to the world of staggered tire sizes? I am planning on getting a second set for the rears but will be looking for a different tire when the fronts wear out so I can get new ones all around. Please let me know what tires you've had good and bad experience with. I care about noise and dry traction and price is not an issue but something that lasts at least about 20k miles would be best.

Thank you!

What size wheels are we talking about here? Are you sure the wear on the rear tires is completely even? W211s tend to chew up the inner edge of the rear tires because they have a lot of negative camber on the back.

Staggered wheels are a pain in the ***. There's no reason V6 E class needs staggered wheels.

Either they are evenly worn or so close it's hard to measure. The car has the sports package and original 10 twin spoke 18" rims.

I would just go to a square setup. Those oem rims are easy to find now.
