2006 E320 CDI
New CDI owner (2006), got a key question!

Here it is:

My new project! Rescuing a 2006 E320 CDI. https://imgur.com/gallery/C92rhtt

I have one question i cannot find an answer to.

The key works in the ignition just fine, and the led flashes when i hit the buttons, but the car doesnt care, no lock, unlock or trunk pop.

I saw a few demos on youtube on how to relearn the buttons if needed after remote battery replacment, still not working.

Can someone shed a little light here? Thanks.

if that is the case and you have good fob batteries you are left with a complicated electronic system that cant be diagnosed by the FUYAA you need a chassis scan to correctly solve the issue

2005 E320 CDI (SOLD); 2008 ML320 CDI 4MATIC
Dealer will charge ~$180 for a single 'quick test' interrogation with their DAS/XDOS scanner of vehicle's various canbus connected control units (microcomputers) of which there are many embedded throughout. That price is IF all control units report no stored or current codes. They roll that price into cost of repair for anything discovered IF they get authorized to make repair. Better to invest in dealer-level diagnostic troubleshoot code scanner that can ride in vehicle like a spare tire imho. Cost of a scan tool varies widely but an icarsoft or foxwell would pay for themselves in one use when compared to cost of running down to dealership every time something goes nonlinear in vehicle's operation which will increase with mileage.
