another 3-5-7 MP3 question, help
I have a 2005 CDI, no nav. I see the following menus after pressing 357:
1: model: all american models, no ECE
2: keyboard: american and ECE models
Anyone out there know if it is possible for me to play MP3's. All I can do is make my screen say AMG which I find funny given it is a diesel.

I have a 2005 e320 (late july build date) and the cd changer plays cd mp3 discs and the single cd plays cd & dvd mp3 discs. All without the 357 trick.
BTW: Can you reguraly get the menu to popup? If so can you share exactly how?

Thanks, I was wondering if anyone without nav can play mp3.
I turn on the command and press the 357. Sometimes it resets my presets and sometimes it generates the menu.

I have NAV and SIRIUS SAT radio in my 05 CDI. I have yet to get the 3-5-7 to work when starting from audio, CD, NAV, SAT menus. Which menu are you using to start the trick with, what ignition key setting?

I had the same problems getting in to the menu, but as mentioned in another thread, if you press and hold 5 first, then do 3 and 7, hold for 5 seconds, you will see the menu. It should be renamed the 537 trick instead.

Car turned off
Comand turned on and set to radio
Press 5 then press 3 and 7 at the same time.
The menu comes up every time. Too bad it's only US models
Now I need to figure out how to bring up the diag mode. I was told it was Mute + 1 + 3 but it never works.

From previous discussions, it has been more or less determined that the Mute+1+3 trick does not work on our COMAND units. I have also tried it many times, with no luck. I would be curious to see the firmware revisions outside of star diagnose.

I have an 08 E550. I can get into the menu with 5 3 7, and can scroll thru the menu selections, but can't get them to stick. When I turn the unit off, everything goes back to the original settings. whats the joke?

alright ima type this out. this is what i have when i go to 357 serv
it says keyboard on top left but you are really in model screen then theres six different types i can choose from
1) W211 ECE ( E class in europe)
2) W211 US (E class in US)
3) W240 ECE (Maybach in Europe)
4) W240 US ( Maybach in US)
5) R171 ECE (SLK in Europe)
6) R171 US (SLk in US)
then if you choose the keyboard option on the top left screen itll take you to the keyboard options and instead of it saying keyoard itll say model on the top left. then the options are
1) Developer
2) W211 ECE
3) W211 US
4) W240 ECE
5) W240 US
6) Variant Specific
no after you chose which one you want- i havnet seen a difference when i choose developer or variant specific so if someone can clarify i would appreciate it. so after you choose it just press the power off on the screen then take out your key. and wait about two to three minutes and turn the car on and see what you got. another thing i remember when i pressed on one of the options under keyboard I BELIEVE and the settings changed a lot i mean when you press map it goes to settings and the numbers changed also. but i took out my battery and it reset back to original. but thats all it is.

The splash screen is on for about a second or less so I really see no reason in doing it.
