Keyfob start and stall issues
Hi.
I recently took over an E280, 2007 sedan. All good up to now. Two issues I'm having are:
1) I have to turn the smartkey into the ignition several times on occassion before it starts. Sometimes it will start on a first crank. Other times, I have had to crank 3-4 times, and even remove the key and re-insert etc. Eventually, it does start. To be clear, there is no cranking at all when it doesn't start. It either "ignites" and starts, or not.
2) On what is now 2 occassions (today being second), the car has stalled at extremely slow speeds (ex turning out of a parking lot) where the engine will just cut out and I have to move to the side of road. I immediately turn on my emerg lights. I then turn ignition soon after and I drive off. Very odd but obviously very concerning.
The car battery is about 4 years old and is fine, it clocks in 12+V everytime I've tested it and tested by parts dealer this afternoon as well.
I do plan to bring it in for a check up and service (this coming Monday) but just very curious about anyone's thoughts or similar experiences.
Thank you in advance to all respondents.

Could be key or ignition switch (EIS) either way codes need to be pulled for definitive diagnose preferably using MB diagnostics. No second key?

Without pulling codes one thing to consider replace crankshaft position sender I believe the part # is 6429050000 but would need to confirm. MB instructions list initialization but normally plug & play.
