Engine Vibration Still Continues
when I'm driving i don't feel any vibration smooth as a whistle. (PS there is a difference of before changing all these parts compared to now)
the only thing i don't quite get is even after replacing my harmonic balancer there is a tiny vibration to it, maybe you guys can shed some light on this my mechanic seems to say that its ok and its not the problem and that the harmonic balancer is fine.
I've been doing some research online and seen a few video's talking about the front drive shaft being one issue, I'm starting to think this might be it since the vibration is coming from under the seat, also when looking at the engine you can see there is a slight vibration like there is a misfire going on but i didn't get any codes i tried disconnecting each coil to see if one was faulty they seem to be in good condition.
also forgot to mention if it may help when turning on the air conditioning or heating in the car you can feel the vibration even more, as-well as when i put the car in Sport mode.
please anyone with some insight on this issue would be of great help its becoming annoying i just want it fixed.
Let's look at all the rotating parts at the front of the engine.
Harmonic Balancer. Replaced.
Tensioner. Replaced.
Pulley, Idler Pulley. Replaced.
Power Steering pump
AC Compressor
Alternator
If you notice more vibration when the AC kicks on, I would suggest checking the AC compressor. Since there is so much room in front of the engine, might as well pull the belt off and check all of the components for any sign of wear in the bearings. Put your hand where the belt normally sits and spin it. Try and feel if it moves smoothly or there is some looseness or grinding sensation. The bearings inside do not last forever and being exposed to the engine heat, I am sure after 17 years the grease inside is no good anymore. Fyi, I have the same engine and I have replaced everything listed above except the alternator....yet.
