Memory Seat Package

I am just finding out about the memory seat package on my E320 CDI which also has Keyless Go. I have a few of questions.

First, is it correct that there are five memory positions for the drivers seat(three on the door and one for each key) or do the keys correspond to the door positions.

Second, does anyone know if the Keyless Go keys can be programmed with seat memory positions, and if they can, do these settings take effect in keyless mode, or does the key need to be inserted into the ignition?

One thing I wondered is what happens if both keys are in the car, one in my pocket and one in my wifes handbag!?

Finally, I am getting the clear message from the forum that the Memory Seats and in particular the Easy Entry features are not very robust or predicatable. Interested to learn of others experiences.

Oh, one last question. I go two keys with my UK car, is that correct?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Andy

3 memory positions for each smart key when used to start the car, & 3 memory positions for each Keyless Go start if the "Key dependent" is set to yes.

Second, does anyone know if the Keyless Go keys can be programmed with seat memory positions, and if they can, do these settings take effect in keyless mode, or does the key need to be inserted into the ignition?

When you start with keyless, the keyless memory is used. Start with a key & the key memory is used (If key dependent)

Sometimes the car is confused. But have never had a problem starting it... usually I use Keyless Go, except when I have to take the car to the car wash or valet parking.

They are not documented very well. I thought mine were crazy. But they do work as designed. My seat will never move back because the car says I am back far enough to exit from my normal driving position. But if you shut down the engine & move the seats in all crazy adjustments before you open the door to exit, then exit the car, & lock the car. The seat will move back into position when you unlock, re enter, and START the car. All of the seat & wheel movement may pause momentarily as the car's computer gets busy with other things during the start up, but all the movement will complete to finish. The engineers should have let the driver memorize a special exit position like you have to memorize a special mirror look down position, so even though you drive far back, your memorized exit position could be set to be even further back.

My USA car came w/ 2 also

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Very obtuse engineering, but it does work as designed.
