Someone said that no Designo packages were available for the E class CDIs ordered for the N A market.

If this is true, I'm disappointed.

It would be nice if the pictures could remain on the front page of this excellent forum. I know of one dealer that never had these pictures available
. Sadly there is also very little information on interior Designio combinations.
I have seen some really 'controversial'
Designio' interiors and perhaps one or two really nice ones.
We used to have a dealership here in South Devon, which had a large computer monitor, the salesperson quite simply put up my S210 and we 'built it' on the screen, colour, interior colour and wheels. This is quite a common feature at some manufacturers dealership. Unfortunately our new huge dealership however just had small metal rectangles of various coloured metals from which you make a selection, or of course the various cars that are on show. Progress :v
Thanks for an thread,

Excellent link, but what a crazy world, 'Designio' has a sort of Italian ring to it, yet on the Italian site they call it 'Design'

I am off to check to see if the UK site has complied with its 'European' counterpart.
Bye,
John

The keys to the designo paint is the depth and finish. They seem to have more and larger metallic pariticles in the paint and they seem to be sprayed dryer, so the particles standup and reflect light.
In Germany there are three prices for the paint, standard designo, mystic (red, white, or blue), and the vario and chroma colors. The pictures don't really illustrate the vario very well.
More important, there are three interior trim levels. The highest includes a leather dash, console, entire door, and lots of alcantara. The Italian pictures show some of this. Worst for us Northeamericanos is that it is only 1200EUR more than what we do get, and we canīt get it.
Also, in Germany, the interior, paint, and steering wheel are ordered separately. Here we only get a few canīt choices.
I did see an E55 AMG in NY before I left with Mocha Black designo, it did look good.

Designo is nice, but I checked with MB before ordering my car, and the designo interiors ALL have a black dashboard, black seat belts, door trim, and other parts etc in black, which are in a co-ordinated colour for standard car! Wierd or what?

All the headliners are grey
Also in designo, all the headliners are grey which doesn't work for me in the espresso edition with sand color seats.
