Visit Workshop battery sign

The car is a 2005 model, E280 CDI 4matic.
Lately I`ve got a red warning sign telling me "Visit Workshop" with a red battery sign on it. I`ve changed the main battery, and checked the small battery in the front, which is good.
Still, the sign won`t go away. Anybody got any idea what the problem can be?

Thanks.

Best to have someone pull codes using MB diagnostics, many variables for system to fail see attachment.

I had this last winter, just a couple of days after I bought it. Checked voltage from the main battery while engine was running, and sure enough the alternator wasn't charging. While I was replacing it, I noticed that freewheeling clutch was actually the culprit.

Only through a multimeter.. The battery measured around 12,8V.

Ah I see, the alternator seems fine, and the batterycharging are measuring around 14V when engine is running. On one of my earlier w211 a own sign of «alternator/battery visit workshop» came when the alternator was broken

i got a the red battery warning and a fault code regarding my starter/alternator harness grounding out.
Turns out the harness had been whipped/pinched against front t-case/destroyed from my "front driveshaft u-joint explosion debacle of 2020".
Couldn't even see the issue until i had removed the exhaust and alternator.
You need actual fault codes or you'll never find the reason for the fault or no charging.
The batteries charge through the starter BTW, as if that makes any sense at all.
