Loud Ticking Noise Driver Side Rear Trunk Area
I took my 2009 E350 out for a smog today and parked it in the garage. After coming back in a half hour later, I could hear a very strange and loud ticking noise coming from the back of the car in the driver side area. Opening the trunk and doors cause it to stop!
The car only makes the noise when it is off and it's intermittent.
I initially thought it could be a grounded fuel pump, but the fuel pump sounds very different, if not quieter.
Anyone had a sound like this? Next time it does it I will video it.
